Over 15 years ago, I was given my very first assignment - conceptualize an idea and write a script for Cedar Fair’s Halloween Events.
So it was, that in 2007, a 10,000-year-old being was born - The Overlord.

It’s hard to kill a monster

Due to The Overlords success in year one, he became a regular installment in future Halloween advertising. He even became a physical presence in several theme parks across the country.

Conjuring Results

The Overlord didn’t just summon monsters into Cedar Fair’s parks, he brought it guests by the thousands.

Additionally, the creation and sale of Overlord merchandise (posters, t-shirts, sweaters, toys, statues) added 18% to incremental admission and food and beverage sales within the first year of its launch.

Attendance grew by 25%
